Hi,
Our 3 yr old daughter, Madison, was diagnosed with Stage 3 malignant liver cancer two weeks ago. Her liver is covered with tumor masses.
Madison complained of a stomach ache accompanied by low grade temeratures over 4 days and moved into severe stomach pains.
The diagnosis was unexpected to say the least, especially since she is a very healthy child and we saw no signs. But more than ever, liver cancer in toddlers this age is nearly unheard of and highly rare. Madison is in the middle of her first cycle of chemo with a liver transplant shortly thereafter. The success rate thru Barnes Jewish Children's hospital transplant surgeons is exceptionally high and we pray for a positive outcome. The journey will be long and challenging - this will be a marathon with a lot of praying, hard work and patience!
We are asking for donations for any unforeseeable medical bills that our insurance will not cover. Any money left over will go towards children's cancer research.
