Funeral for Christopher

Well...another uneventful night with low numbers, no high peaks and no neurologic fever... they took the icp out of his head and gave him a few stitches. I was more then excited to see it gone. That is a huge turn in the right direction. Then they told me that apparently the paralytic did exactly what they had hoped and it looks like tomorrow they are gonna begin the process of waking him up. They are going to slowly back off the paralytic and slowly back off the sedation meds, but still keep him heavly sedated so that he's extremely sleepy so he doesn't panic or get combative again and wait for him to come around. Then all the testing will begin to see where he is...can he talk, squeeze a hand/move his toes, know where he is, vision, hearing. I do want to add...that yesterday I found out that his injuries are worse then thought. The force of hitting the back of his head was caused with such force that its a circular fracture all the way around and his skull is pushed in, and the blunt force broke the bones in his right ear and also the base of his skull which is the roof of his mouth. So we do not know if his is going to also have hearing problems or be deaf In that ear because of it.
Today I am grateful that we went from.. not knowing what was going to happen.. to.. he is going to make it and now we just have to help him heal and piece his life back together and help him in any way I can. The dr said to me earlier ... with a smile on his face" I don't know if you believe in miracles, if you do... this is a miracle. Yesterday we were talking about removing half his skull and today we are talking about waking him up tomorrow. I don't know what happened over the last 24 hours but... everything changed."

I want to say.. thank you to all the hundreds of people that have reached out, said prayers, commented on my posts, brought dinner over, came to visit chris and myself and most of all... have been such an amazing support for him. The scariest part is over but I do believe the hardest part starts tomorrow when he wakes up. I am so incredibly scared for him to wake up but I am so excited this is 1 more milestone we are gonna get through together...and I will be right here holding his hand.
Please take the time today to say praise for the miracles Christopher is receiving and prayers for continued strength and healing.
