Zyi's Gender Affirming Surgery

Hi, my name is Zyi. I'm 25 years old and am a queer Afro-Latinx artist living in Los Angeles. During the start of the pandemic, I've come to discover that my most authentic gender was identifying as non-binary. I had questions about my gender early on during childhood, and am thankful to now have answers. Unraveling this truth has been a tumultuous journey and I've come to realize that my gender dysphoria can not be healed by the clothing I use to hide my body. I've tried my best to appreciate what body my parents have given me and at times have tried to outwardly embrace my curves, but nonetheless, every time it continues to take a toll.

 

Although some may be surprised that I'd want to permanently change the shapely figure I was given, at the end of the day, I have to walk in it knowing that I'd be happier if my body reflected who I was inside. I've done extensive research and have had many discussions with my therapist as well as met with primary care physician, and gender-affirming surgery is the only next step to alleviating the gender dysphoria I experience daily. Gender dysphoria is an extremely uncomfortable experience and treatment will drastically benefit my mental health.

 

It's difficult to be this vulnerable, but I have to be honest that I need support. I'm a full-time artist and often times barely have enough to pay my bills. I'm also a recently signed model and I love my agency, but my portfolio is still being developed in order to book gigs. I don't have the financial means right now to fund the necessary surgeries I require and am here asking for your support.
