29.12.2020 at 12:19pm, a little town Petrinja in Croatia had endured a horrible earthquake that made the whole town crumble to pieces. Some of the old timers even say that the city looks even worse then it did after the war... And it really does. Nothing is left. Pictures are nothing compared to what it truly looks like.
For almost 2 weeks now, more then 1500 earthquakes have hit Petrinja, a few of them making huge damages to homes. After the big earthquake that hit Petrinja and as you can see from my picture, pretty much everything was smashed in our apartment. Me and my husband lived on the second floor and there is not a wall in our apartment building that didn't crack. We are 30 years old and we have been living in Petrinja for the past 3 years (my husband has been there for his whole life). All our things were smashed. After we were able to leave our apartment we went to our husbands house which is also in Petrinja and we were so happy to see firstly his parent's were fine and that it was standing. Unfortunately, as the time has passed and as the ground still continues to shake, what was once a small crack on one of our main structural walls in our house, has now turned out to be a very big and expensive problem. One of the walls that holds our home altogether has been quite damaged and is in need of fixing. For this reason, after talking to an architect who has assured us that this can be fixed, we lake the funds currently. With this being said, there wasn't a single thing that survived in the house (glasses, mirrors, tv, closets, pictures), everything was smashed. Currently we are asking for financial support to fix our home, to fix this main wall so that we can at least have a safe home. We would like to fix this wall as soon as possible, before any critical damages are made to it, bringing us to have to leave the house as well.
Since our apartment building isn't safe, we are now left to live in this house with his parents who both currently don't work due to their work places also being damaged.
