HELP MIKE FIGHT CANCER
My husband, Mike, was just diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer one week ago. His Doctors in Southern Oregon are not equipped to deal with this illness here. It has been highly recommended that he seek medical attention with a highly skilled staff of Doctors specializing in this area.
We have been told that it is Stage 1-B and has not metastasized.
This is not a proud moment for either one of us reaching out to ask for help and if it was not a Life or Death situation, we would not be asking now.
University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is where we have chosen to seek treatment. Thankfully, we have insurance that will help cover some of the costs. Our Out-of-Pocket will probably be around $6,000. The flight and staying in Houston will be somewhere in the area of $3,500.
We do not own a house and pretty much live month to month. I will be selling my car, furniture and any other items we have acquired.
Mike's employer does not provide Long-Term Disability and we have no idea how long he will be out of work.
Our plans also include returning any funds unused to either individual donors and if that is not possible, donating to MD Andersen Medical Center.
The sense of urgency is critical at this time as he has a better chance at beating this horrible disease if he gets the help he needs as soon as possible.
