On Monday morning, our beloved friends, Lulu and Justin, went to the doctor and received the news that no parents should ever have to receive - their daughters heart was no longer beating.
The last 24 hours have been an emotional hurricane as they have navigated the difficult and confusing waters of everything that comes after such devastating news. Unsurprisingly the have demonstrated such astonishing strength and courage along the way and are doing everything they can to move through this impossible process with presence and grace while making extraordinary room for the mourning and grief that is still to come.
In the coming days, weeks and months they are going to be faced with more than we can imagine and the community around them is already mobilizing to help and nurture them in every possible way. But the road is long and taxing, emotionally, spiritually and, unfortunately, financially.
We are starting this fund so that we may cast as wide a net as possible and allow everyone who loves Lulu and Justin to help play an important role in getting them through this terrible time. Money is by no means the only tool we are going to use to assist them but its going to be a very helpful one.
The funds we raise here will be going directly to them and will help them to cover the substantial medical bills, food and assist with rent and any other small costs that will be difficult for them to cover in the coming weeks.
This is news is still fresh and unfolding in real time so we ask also that you keep them in your thoughts. If it feels appropriate and natural to your relationship with them then feel free to send messages of love and support their way but please understand that responses will likely be minimal as all their energy and focus is going to be on recovery and grieving their terrible loss.

PS. GoFundMe has told me to be more specific about a few things or they are going to take this fund down. My name is Patrick Adams and I am married to Troian Bellisario. Lulu and Troian have been friends since there were children and I had the honor of introducing Justin and Lulu years ago after working on a play together. The funds we are gathering here will be transferred directly in the hands of Justin and Lulu first to pay for the clean up and storage locker that we've organized for them as they have a lot of baby items that need a home while they work through this difficult time. The money will mostly be used to help cover any and all medical costs they have incurred through this process. Any money left over will be there to help them cover their daily costs for the next few weeks as they both heal and get ready to return to work.
The support so far has been amazing. And we are all humbled by everyones immediate and extraordinary generosity. We are in the process of withdrawing this initial amount right away and the moment it transfers we will be cutting a check to Justin and Lu.
