Prayers for Mariah

"Say her name, say her name" when you pray for her, is her mother's plea. She is their only child, and is the light of her family and friends' lives. We have just learned that our 13 year old daughter, Mariah, has a rare form of brain cancer in the brain stem. She has locally been offered a single radiation regimen of 6 weeks that will only stop new growth of the tumor, and only during treatment.
We are setting up this fund for all those who have been wanting to help the family with mounting expenses, potential medical and travel bills, and other unforeseen costs. Kevin and Brenda would both love to stay with her as much as they possibly can. We want them to feel completely free to focus on Mariah, and to know that their day to day living expenses are covered for now. They will no doubt be facing large medical and pharmaceutical bills as this progresses. They may have to leave town to seek additional treatment. There will surely be costs that we can't even anticipate. Kevin and Brenda do not qualify for FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) at this time.
Upon learning she had cancer, Mariah asked "How will my parents make money while I'm sick?" I want her to know that her big Daddy's arms and heart will be available at a moment's notice when she needs him to carry her to her room upstairs. I want her to have her fierce momma available to attend to her personal and emotional needs during this difficult diagnosis. Let's let the whole family know that they can be together and can consider pursuing whatever treatment they can find without fear of the costs. Please love on them with your prayers and gifts, as they seek to do what is best for Mariah.
Many of you are so eager to help, and this will surely bring them some measure of comfort and relief. While your financial help is so appreciated, please pray that the God of all comfort and Great Physician will rush to our aid, heal Mariah, and have His glory in our situation.
