Kyle's Journey

My family and I finally got the chance to meet our good friend's son this spring break and while a joyous occasion, it definitely brought home the hardship they endure everyday.
My friend Jay, whom I've known since second grade, and his amazing wife Kate were blessed to welcome their son Kyle February 2017. Kyle spent his first seven months at the hospital before making his way home. He has had numerous surgeries for trach replacement, surgery on the neck, shunt, G tube and there will definitely be more surgeries in the future. He's also had multiple unexpected visits to the ER for various reasons which have led to more inpatient stays.
Jay and Kate have lovingly been there with their adorable son through it all. They've had to use up all their PTO and while their employers are supportive, they still struggle needing to take off so much unexpected work. One thing they have been wanting to do was to get a vehicle to better transport Kyle and all of his necessary medical equipment (ventilator, oxygen machine, joey pump and a dizzying arsenal of medical supplies ). This was put on hold so they could take care of day to day living.
Please help in supporting a wonderful family, burning the candles on both ends, trying to give the best life to their son. There will still be struggles with mounting medical bills, nursing needs, and unexpected time off work, but having a peace of mind and getting a vehicle to accommodate Kyle will add a little convenience and introduce a fraction of normalcy back into their lives.
