On Sunday night, February 9th, tragedy struck a hardworking family when their kitchen caught on fire. What started as a normal evening quickly turned into a nightmare, leaving them with nothing but the clothes on their backs. The fire caused extensive damage, not only to the kitchen but also to the living room, with soot and smoke damage spreading throughout their home. There was also some water damage to their home from efforts to put out the fire. The house has been deemed uninhabitable by the fire marshall until it can be rebuilt. It is estimated 6-8 months.

The family had just purchased groceries the day before, and everything they rely on to cook, eat, and live was lost in an instant. Every plate, utensil, and cooking appliance is gone, along with the everyday items that most of us take for granted. A 9-year-old girl in the family lost all of her beloved toys, as they were rendered unsafe by the dangerous smoke damage. A home that once felt warm and secure has now been taken from them.

To add to the overwhelming challenges they are facing, a family member was also rushed to the emergency room on February 11th due to a medical issue, adding another layer of stress and uncertainty to an already difficult situation.
