Emergency Housing for Francine Doxtador
Donation protected
Francine "Flower" Doxtador is a 60 year old grandmother of 5. She is Onkwehonwe, Haudenosaunee, from Six Nations of the Grand River Territory. She is a land defender.
This elder is in an emergency situation, needing somewhere to live immediately. The trailer she lives in now was condemned 20 years ago, and is beyond repair. More recently, the furnace is broken and the trailer is freezing. The electrical is shot and is a fire hazard. There is no running water. Her mobility is affected by severe rheumatoid arthritis.
For the past few years, she would stay with her daughter and grandkids, except for summers. However, her family has recently been struck by tragedies and her daughter is also in need of housing at the moment.
Shelters are full and rent is absolutely not affordable.
Her friends are asking for donations to buy and transport a comfortable, well functioning, warm trailer as soon as possible, given the freezing temperatures.
