Hi, my name is Joan Sorrentino and I am creating this GoFundMe to help my cousin out. My cousin's mom rescued Zuzu when he was a baby. He was born in my sister's yard. My aunt had a special bond with Zuzu and loved him so much. Unfortunately, my aunt passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. She left behind Zuzu. My cousin Liz, my aunt's daughter, immediately started to care for Zuzu, making sure he was safe, had food, and was loved. Zuzu has shown unconditional love to my cousin. When my cousin was hit by a car, Zuzu never left her side when she was recovering. My cousin was hit by a car a day before my aunt, her mom, was set to be buried. My cousin couldn't attend her own mother's funeral but had my aunt's baby by her side.

Zuzu recently became sick. He is unable to use the bathroom. My cousin is on disability and can barely cover her rent, let alone a vet bill. She took him to her vet. They did an X-ray and found he had a blockage and couldn't use the bathroom. They were able to clear him out but, fast forward not even a month later, it happened again. This time the medicine wasn't working. Poor Zuzu was in pain and could barely eat from it. My cousin took him to another vet because they wanted to see him ASAP. Whatever money she had in her pocket and bank account went towards them trying a procedure but had no luck. They sent him home with more meds, but they aren't working. Multiple calls have been made to several other vets to see if payment arrangements can be made, but unfortunately, everyone wants payment upfront. It is making my cousin sick to the point she is not sleeping or leaving the house because she doesn't want to leave Zuzu. If she can't afford the procedure, she will have to put Zuzu down. This is killing my cousin as Zuzu is the only piece she has left of her mom. I am unable to help her financially, that is why I am starting this GoFundMe. I don't know how much it will cost as the vet wants to see Zuzu again and keep him for the day to give him medicine and observe him. It could be less than the goal I put, but I wanted to make sure she was able to get Zuzu the care he needs. I am asking everyone to please help me help my cousin. It would mean the world to me as my aunt was a second mother to me. My aunt gave everyone around her all of her, and I want to be able to give back.
