My father's hospitalization
Hello, I am Benjamin Zuniga and the person below is my father. Right now, I am in Canada far away from home and trying to find ways to help my father and his illness. He has had 6 or 7 septic shocks since March of this year. This started with him coughing (pneumonia) not feeling well and he fainted (intestinal infection) and woke up at the middle of the night and didn't tell anyone what had happened. After that he started shivering during the day and my sister found him with bruises and shaking with a very high fever. After this is when everything else began. He entered the hospital and needed norepineprhine a medicine to help his body maintain blood pressure. He had his blood pressure on 0/60. He has always been a strong man but I had never seen him in that state. He has been in and out of the hospital with strong antibiotics but once he is released after 2 days he starts with the same symptoms again. He had an infection on his heart valves due to the rupture of a polip on his intestine and E. Choli and Salmonela was found in his bloodstream and caused a big infection in his heart like I mentioned before. He underwent colostomy surgery and he was getting much better from the end of July until the middle of Sept when he got his colostomy bag removed. After this is when things went back to a similar situation as March. Shivering, fever, low blood pressure and losing more weight. He had 4 surgeries in his abdomen due to lack of knowledge from some Medical Doctors and he is still hoping to get better. This is a small summary of all he has undergone but I hope we find a way to move him to a better hospital with better technologies so that my dad gets better. I please ask for your support of this since we are doing what we can to give him a better treatment but in my home country if you don't have the economic means you don't have access to the adequate medical attention.
Hola, soy Benjamin Zuniga y la persona de abajo es mi padre. Ahora mismo estoy en Canadá, lejos de casa y buscando maneras de ayudar a mi padre y su enfermedad. Ha tenido 6 o 7 choques sépticos desde marzo de este año. Esto comenzó cuando no se sentia bien un dia en la casa estaba tosiendo por varios dias y tambien sentia malestar abdominal(neumonia e infeccion intestinal) se desmayó y se despertó en mitad de la noche y no le contó a nadie lo que había pasado. Después de eso comenzó a temblar durante el día y mi hermana lo encontró con moretones y temblores con fiebre muy alta. Después de esto es cuando todo lo demás comenzó. Ingresó en el hospital y no controlaba su presion por lo cual se le aplico norepinefrina una medicina para ayudar a su cuerpo a mantener la presión arterial. Él tenía su presión arterial en 0/60. Él siempre ha sido un hombre fuerte, pero nunca lo había visto en ese estado. Él ha entrado y salido del hospital con fuertes antibióticos, pero una vez que es liberado después de 2 días, comienza de nuevo con los mismos síntomas. Tenía una infección en las válvulas de su corazón debido a la ruptura de un polipo en su intestino y E. Choli y Salmonela se encontraron en su torrente sanguíneo y causaron una gran infección en su corazón como mencioné anteriormente. Se sometió a una cirugía de colostomía y mejoró mucho desde fines de julio hasta mediados de septiembre cuando le quitaron su bolsa de colostomía. Después de esto es cuando las cosas volvieron a una situación similar de marzo. Temblor, fiebre, presión arterial baja y perder más peso. Recibió aproximadamente 4 cirugías en su abdomen debido a la falta de conocimiento de algunos médicos y aún espera mejorar. Este es un pequeño resumen de todo lo que ha experimentado, pero espero que encontremos la forma de trasladarlo a un mejor hospital con mejores tecnologías para que mi padre mejore. Le pido su apoyo, ya que estamos haciendo todo lo posible para darle un mejor tratamiento, pero en mi país, si no se tiene los medios económicos, no hay acceso a la atención médica adecuada.
