Zundra's Road To Recovery

Two days before Christmas, my mom and dad realized something funny was happening to my mom as she was out and about preparing for the holiday. Thinking quickly, they rushed to the hospital to confirm my mother was having a stroke. Such a scary way to start the holiday! However, doctors told my mom that according to scans of her brain, this wasn't the first one she has had at 44. Her scans showed several mini strokes that occurred over time that she wasn't aware of. And even though my mom was experiencing the scariest, most crippling moment of her life, all she was concerned about was, wanting to see her 4 children on Christmas morning. 

Six months has passed since the stroke and my mom is still going through occupational, physical and speech therapy. She is adjusting to the life of being "disabled", being a wife and raising three kids in the house; 17, 10 and 3. However, therapy hasn't been enough.  Her right arm is still immobile and she walks with a foot drop. 

Soon her therapy visits will be deemed as an "if necessary" basis. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover all the treatments or plans to ensure my mom makes a full recovery. My family's  biggest concern at the moment is helping my mom re-learn how to walk correctly. 

The walkaide  is a dynamic foot treatment that will correct my mom's gait, helping her learn to walk the right way without her current foot drop. With this device, simple activities that we do day-to-day will become easier for my mom. She will be able to return to some form of independence and regain confidence in making a full recovery. 

Any monetary donation will help since insurance does not cover this treatment; and her therapy visits will come to a conclusion soon. We appreciate all of your help, well wishes and prayers for my mom while she recovers from this life changing event!
