Zuko's Glaucoma surgery
Donation protected
Zuko was diagnosed with primary glaucoma, which is increased pressure in the eye caused by an abnormal drainage angle of the eye. Glaucoma is a very painful condition and rapidly causes blindness in the affected eye.
Yesterday I took him to a 2nd vet for a second opinion to confirm his Glaucoma. They happen to have a specialist and were sooo extensive in checking him thoroughly and keeping us informed.

Fortunately, Zuko still has sight in his right eye.
Tuesday, Election day, Zuko will undergo surgery to completely removed his eye. It wasn't fair to continue to leave his infected eye, which could cause issues with his other eye down the road. We decided to have it removed now.
I adopted Zuko in August 2020 from a shelter in Missouri after he was rescued. His is 5 months old now. I adopted him for my daughter to help with some of her anxiety during the pandemic. She fell in love with Zuko the instant she met him. Zuko is the coolest cat. I love Zuko endlessly and I want to do absolutley everything I can to keep him healthy and happy.
