Lindsey Kennedy

Kiss Lindsey's Cancer Goodbye!!! Lindsey was 28 weeks pregnant July 2012 when she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She had a mastectomy of her right breast and a sentinel lymph node biopsy at 30 weeks pregnant. She will soon undergo physical therapy, chemotherapy, radiation, and the birth of her first baby.

Lindsey has been teaching Kindergarten for the last 6 years. She was planning on going back to school this August for her seventh year of teaching, however since her diagnosis she is unable to do that. Being a teacher you are exposed to many germs, bacteria, and harmful viruses on a daily basis, plus working with 25 five year olds, you need an extra dose of energy. Since Chemotherapy can cause fatigue or nausea/vomiting, and it decreases the production of blood cells and can cause depression of the immune system, (which can result in potentially fatal infections), her doctor has recommended her take the whole year off while she undergoes treatment.
