Liver Cirrhosis - In need of a Liver Transplant

Dear Friends, this fund raising campaign is being conducted by myself and my best friend (Simranjit Singh). In support of Simranjit Singh’s father (Mr. Jasbir Singh), who is critically ill at the moment and is suffering from cirrhosis. Alongside with the liver disease he is also suffering from other complications as well, such as jaundice and ascites (fluid in abdomen).
All of the savings they had has been put towards the medical expenses, as he has been recently admitted again due to worsening complications. He is now at stage 3, where his liver has started to decompose. Doctors have advised that the only solution for this disease is a liver transplant and that Mr. Singh needs the transplant in the next 5-10 days before it’s too late. Mr. Singh is a perfect candidate for a transplant, as he does not smoke or drink and does not have any other major complications that would get in the way of a liver transplant, Simranjit Singh will be donating his liver to his father.
The cost of the entire procedure in India is 20-22 lakhs ($40-44K). Unfortunately, they are unable to afford the surgery due to the high cost. Their main source of income was from Mr. Singh, and due to his illness he has been hospitalized.
Below, is a message expressed by Simranjit Singh for his father.
“PAPA, the only name that comes to mind when I get into any problem. No matter how big the problem is he was always there to support me and there by my side. Despite his financial conditions, he always tried to ensure that I would never get into any problem with my studies and growing up as a valued human being. We are more like friends than like a father-son, he has done all his duties well but it is my turn to support him now in this situation. As he is suffering from liver disease and he needs liver transplant. Although I am ready to donate my liver but the cost is the main reason for his current condition. We can’t afford such a costly surgery. My family and I have put our property on sale to come up with some funds for the surgery, but that process is extensive and we have not been able to sell our property for his surgery.
Hence, we decided to try online fund raising for my father’s surgery, as my family income is not enough to meet the requirements for the transplant. I request all of you, please contribute into this fund raising campaign launched by my friend Guramritpal Singh to save my father’s life so that we can again be a happy family.
Currently my father is hospitalized in Smt. Parvati Devi Hospital, Amritsar. Where he is getting the treatment and various diagnosis are being carried out regularly. He has been further diagnosed with hemorrhoids and polyps in his colon which was the reason for his bloody stools. Now he is being checked for ‘Varises’ a condition when blood leaks internally due to hypertension in the portal vein that could be life threatening. All these complications are due to the liver failure. Doctors again advised us the ultimate solution for this is liver transplant surgery.”
