Michael's Funeral Expenses

First and foremost, I would like to thank all of you for your warm, heartening condolences; it’s been helping my family and I cope with Michael’s passing on the night of September 17th, 2018.

He would’ve turned 24 next month; my brother has not been celebrating his birthdays properly for the past few years, so I had planned to go back home to my family after class, surprise him with cake, celebrate his birthday and return to school on the same night. It’s absolutely heartbreaking and painful for us to see him part this world unexpectedly before he could celebrate another year of his life. Every hour or two, I yearn with a heavy heart that he'll come home to us soon and will ask me to go on another food run for him or for any other favor(s).

I saw Michael as a giving and understanding person, especially towards his family and the people very close to him, so it incredibly aches our hearts to know that he is no longer with us anymore, and that it may not be possible to give him the comfortable rest that he genuinely deserves based on the funds my family members and I had pooled together. For this reason, any type of support, even just by sharing this, will greatly help us finish covering the funeral expenses, as well as relieve some financial and emotional stress during this unfortunate time. Any form of contribution whatsoever will be accepted with gratitude and honor. As sad as it is to say that my brother did not mean to leave behind his mourning family and friends, my brother would've been extremely grateful to know that despite keeping to himself over the years, he is still loved and cared for by many people, and that his spirit and memories will always linger within all our hearts, never to be forgotten.

Last but not least, my family and I ask you to please take the time to hold on tight to the people that you love so dear and cherish them with all the love that your heart has to offer. As life works in mysterious ways in which we cannot predict or control events out of our boundaries, it’s always important to express your appreciation, gratitude, and immense love to the ones that matter when you have the chance, and to never let them forget how meaningful they are to you. In the end, the most beautiful things in life are the precious memories and moments of you and your loved ones that can be reminisced in the darkest of days.

Rest well in Paradise, Michael Bui.
A wonderful son, supportive brother, and considerate friend.
You will be dearly missed, but I'll for sure see you again one day.

P.S. When I see you again, I'll bring a workable mouse this time so we can finally continue L4D like I promised.
