Cancer Sucks
Hi, my name is Tami. I am a mother of 2 amazing children and a step mother to 3 remarkable boys. I am a special needs teacher and most recently a caregiver and wife to Eric.
You see, my beloved husband was diagnosed with stage 2 (possibly 3) colorectal cancer on June 15th, 2017. The months preceding that were filled with pain, discomfort and more questions than answers.
After barely a year of marriage we were thrust into a new world of chemotherapy, radiation and hospital visits. Our date nights, outdoor adventures and family outings are a thing of the past as we battle fatigue and nausea. It's a long path ahead, after this round of chemotherapy and radiation he will need his colon removed. A surgery that will cost a fortune. But that's not the end. The end comes after 6 more months of chemotherapy and recovery.
Eric is strong, stubborn and selfless. But he can't do this alone. In this process we will both have periods that we can't work. We will face hardships and challenges we cannot imagine. I've already started working two additional jobs to try and lessen the financial burden on our family of 7.
