Hey friends and family,
We're starting a GoFundMe page for Kyle's mom, Nedra, to help her become cancer free once and for all.
Momma Bear, as we call her, was diagnosed with the disease just before our wedding in 2015. She fought hard for 2 long years with chemo and other recommended therapies. Earlier this year she got some great news from a CT scan and it looked like she had won the battle. Unfortunately however, her most recent scan showed that the cancer had come back, and was spreading through her lungs, liver, and kidneys.
Nedra has been an incredible fighter through this and we're so proud of her! Even when things look bleak she's positive and hopeful.
She's cleaned up her diet, she eats organic, vegan, alkaline and anti-inflammatory, she juices daily and see's a naturopathic oncologist.
She'll be following through with the doctors recommended treatment, as she's had success with that in the past. She'll also continue her natural remedies and diet. But she's also pursuing oncologist recommended alternative treatments.
Insurance covers traditional treatments but others are out of pocket.
Here's our strategy (as explained by the doctors who will be responsible for the treatments)
First and foremost, she will be receiving chemotherapy (which is covered under MSP and is not contributing to the costs)
LRHT (Loco Regional Hypothermia) - this is a non-invasive complementary cancer treatment developed in Germany, approved by health Canada and intended for use with chemotherapy and radiation. It has direct cancer-killing effects, sensitizes malignant cells to radiation and chemo, augments targeted agents and engages the immune system to fight the disease
DCA Protocol (IV Metabolic therapy)- this is a novel metabolic therapy that targets the energy-utilization of cancer cells forcing death of the cancer cells (apoptosis). Used strategically with a low-glycemic diet and other supportive agents, this is a powerful tool in the treatment of advanced metastatic disease
IV Vitamin C- HD-IVAA is a pro-oxidative treatment with demonstrated safety and effectiveness with and without chemotherapy, supported by evidence from clinical trials. HDIVAA reduces inflammation, has direct cancer-killing effects and chemo-sanitizing effects
Subcutaneous Helixor- also known as misletoe lectins therapy, safely improves the tolerability of chemo and radiation, while supporting the immune system during treatment.
These treatments together total about $8000/mo,
If we can hit our goal it means she can pursue these treatments for a 4 months or more.
