Taylor Schriver's Medical Expenses

My name is Jennifer Weekley and I am a second grade teacher from a small town in West Virginia.  My best friend has a daughter named Taylor Schriver who was born with Cystic Fibrosis.  She has overcome so many odds and is a vibrant and beautiful young girl with a heart of gold.  She has battled this disease with the courage of a soldier, extensive medications, tests and various hospital stays.  Both of her parents work full time, have two other children and have tried to never ask anyone for help, although their costs are astronomical.  She is now twenty years old and has been attending Marshall University.   She is preparing to have a major surgery which will require a two to three month stay at a hospital in Minnesota.  Her mother will be going to stay with her to assist with her care following this surgery.   Her mother will be required to take time away from her job for those months and will be without her normal income.  This puts a tremendous strain on the family.  Her basic accomodations will run between $8000 to $10000 depending on her length of stay.  This includes absolutely none of the medications, surgery, hospital stay or after-care the insurance will not cover.   A sick child, no matter their age is every parent's greatest concern.  The added pressures in even their day to day life is extremely stressful.  All I would like to ask is for those reading this to please put yourself in this situation.  I would appreciate your generousity in helping this family cover a small portion of the expense they will have during this time.  Her surgery is scheduled in Minnesota the first week in April.  I truly appreciate any help or relief that you are able to provide Taylor's family.  As with your own children, she is their everything.  Thank you for your time and kindness.  May God Bless and keep you and your family...
