Run for Archie

Archie is my 5 year old miniature dachshund who is happy, loyal and loves hanging out with his mates. Unfortunately he hasn't been himself for a while.
After a month or so of visits to the vet with him I've been given some bad news, he has a condition called Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) and he needs to have immediate surgery on his spine (which I don't have insurance for) or his condition will deteriorate and he will have to be "put to sleep". He is currently on pain medication and has begun walking slightly strange on his back legs. He needs to go for an MRI scan and then surgery to release the compression on his spine that is causing the neurological defect.
IVDD is common in dachshunds, however his chances of recovering successfully from surgery are very high (80-100%). So the only obstacle really is a financial one. I have already spent about £1000 at the vets in the last few weeks and I have pulled together a further few thousand, but the cost of the surgery and treatment is close to £10,000 so i've been left with no option but to look for help. I'm not ready to give up on the wee guy yet.
He needs this life saving surgery as soon as possible so I've set a fundraising deadline of 4 weeks, however the sooner I can get him into surgery the better.
As this is a monumental ask, I've set up a monumental challenge where I will run 3 marathons before 2020 in return for donations.

Archie's health is otherwise excellent and if he can have the surgery he has a great chance of continuing his life as planned. As any dog owner will understand, I'd do anything to get him back to being his usual self.
