Zoey’s Legal Fees/Scholarship Fund


Zoey is just shy of 12 years old. Her mom, Kellie Newcomb, passed away suddenly on 1/26/18 at the young age of 42. She had been diagnosed with Behcets Disease, but was unable to find a doctor to properly treat her disease. She fought this battle for the past 1.5 years, while continuing to work and be an active mother and wife as much as possible. Zoey has always had a special bond with her stepdad, Corey Newcomb, since the age of 4.5 years old. Corey has stepped up and took care of Zoey (and Kellie) without hesitation. He had no children of his own, but Kellie’s children became HIS the day they married! Zoey is now facing an uphill battle... losing her mother at such a crucial age in a young girls life, she is also at risk of losing her loving relationship with her stepdad. Zoey has retained an attorney to fight for her “voice” on where she chooses to live. Her life has been turned upside down, she wants to remain in a stable, familiar environment that she had when her mother was alive, which is living with her stepdad and older brother and continuing visitation with her dad. Zoey has had to grow up a little quicker than other kids due to circumstances beyond her control and is quite mature for her age. This is her sole decision and I am helping her out as a trusted adult to set up this fund that can help pay her legal fees. She also attends Rocky Bayou Christian School, which has helped her tremendously with her dyslexia. This fund will also assist with her future monthly tuition.
