Zoe's Mitzvah Project

In honor of my becoming a Bat Mitzvah, I wanted to do something to give back to my community. For my mitzvah project I have chosen to partner with the Clarkstown Family Resource Center in collecting supermarket gift cards for families in need.
The Clarkstown Family Resource Center is a non-profit organization which helps families in the Clarkstown Central School District in many ways. They provide after-school enrichment programs, parenting workshops and preschool playgroups all through the district.
The CFRC also provides needy families with food, clothing, coats, school supplies and much more. One of the ways they help families is by providing them with gift cards to local supermarkets so that they can purchase food for their families. Each month, the CFRC hands out approximately 75 supermarket gift cards to families in the school district. My goal is to collect enough money to provide the CFRC with enough gift cards for an entire month.
The supermarkets these families can shop at are Stop and Shop and Shop Rite. All money donated through this GoFundMe site will be used to purchase gift cards for these families in need.
I never knew that there were families in my school district who can’t afford to buy food. When I learned about that, I wanted to help. I hope that you will contribute to this important project.
