Zoe and John’s Holiday Spirit

Dear friends and family,

I found out this morning that my dear friend Zoe has been in a situation beyond overwhelming.

Her dear boyfriend of three years John has been diagnosed with 3 (that they know of) tumors in his abdomen. The main tumor is a Stage 4 tumor that is 11cmx10cmx7cm, so about the size of a fist. It is likely latched to part of the stomach/digestive system. The other two tumors are in his liver. They are classified ad GIST tumors. These are very rare, and are even more rare in someone of John’s young age.

They’re hoping he will get into a clinical trail at Sloan Kettering (ranked top cancer research facility in nation) where they will attack the tumors with medication (not necessarily chemo) and hopefully remove them via surgery.
