My name is Sandy. I was confiscated from someone who had starved me and kept me chained. I was rescued and they found wonderful foster parents for me. I didn't have 90% of my coat due to mange, I couldn't walk, and my ears were swollen shut with infection. I wasn't sure I wanted to live. My foster parents wouldn't give up on me and after hours of massages and months of two baths per week, I am able to stand and have most of my coat back. I have my own bed and a beautiful yard and my foster parents are now really my parents. Just this past week I was diagnosed with degenerative myelopathy which will steal the use of my back legs and eventually my front legs but it is a slow cruel disease. It is sort of like MS in humans.
With the love and healing energies and prayers sent to me by my 33,000 Facebook friends ( my page is a daily chronicle of my life since coming to my new home..... Come visit me on Facebook page Saving Sandy) I have been blessed with the will to live and am happy for the first time in my 10 years of life.
Now, I need acupuncture and hydrotherapy and I need to see a specialist at North Carolina State Veterinary School. My FB friends have encouraged me to set up this find so they can help and you can help me to get the treatments that will ease this journey down this dark path. So, here is my Go Fund Me account. I wouldn't be alive without love, and my FB friends have been steadfast. I promise to keep you updated on my journey and to always be thankful for every day I have despite my wobbly legs and crooked spine. Thank you for loving me.
