Raising funds for the Bermudez-Silverman family to recover from the Eaton Fire. Currently displaced without a clear plan forward, it's time to come together to make the path for Joy, George, Pazia, and Sula a little bit easier. Nothing can replace a home, but our resources and support can help ease the insurmountable burden of losing everything.

As parents, grandparents & great-grandparents, Joy & George’s home was the central hub for countless Passover seders, birthdays & holiday celebrations. Theirs was an open door. They are generous of spirit and material, always supporting their community for decades. For a family who relentlessly shows up for others, it's important we make this dark time a little easier.

Both Joy and George have spent their entire lives dedicated to helping others; George as a psychologist & professor, spending a large majority of his career helping Black & Latino families for free in lower income neighborhoods, and Joy as an activist, organizer, arts administrator, and documentary film producer, founding, leading and advising numerous efforts & organizations to benefit education, arts, and marginalized communities.

They jumped in their car Tuesday evening with no time to assess what to save, gather important documents, or even bring extra clothes and shoes. This doesn't account for the photos, artwork, and all the other irreplaceable items that make a home.

Let's rally together to support the Bermudez-Silverman family as they face this unimaginable loss. Any contribution, big or small, will help them and show them the same generosity and care they've extended to so many of us over the years. Together, we can help them take the first steps toward healing and finding stability in the wake of this tragedy.
