Love for Luca

Hi, let's show love for my sister's family. Her beautiful son was in a terrible accident on January 6th, 2023, and has been in the trauma ICU in Delray Beach, Fl. The following words are from my sister Kristi and her husband Carlo: to start, this is the hardest thing we have ever endured in our entire life. Our most precious, kind, intelligent son Luca was involved in a tragic accident on Friday evening 1/6/2023. His sister Ioli was there by his side until he was placed into the ambulance. Words can not express the feeling of complete helplessness to see our son lying in the trauma ICU bed.

If you know Luca you know he never stops talking. So watching him for the past 10 days has been devastating just waiting for him to wake up and say something. Well, today, day 10, he said “Mama”. he is not responding to any commands yet or opening his eyes. but he is in there and fighting to find his way out.

We have never asked for anything from anyone and this is a very humbling turn of life. As his Mom, I can not be away from him. His dad is suffering so much knowing that he will have to return to work soon so we can make sure Luca’s health insurance stays active.

All funds we receive will be used to help with Luca's long-term care and rehabilitation, and to help with household bills, this way we will have the ability to dedicate time and attention to rehabilitation and focus on recovery without the financial burden of not being present because of work since we will be down to one income until he is well enough for me (his Mom) to return to work.

The reality of a tragic unexpected accident/trauma creates obstacles not only day by day but appears to have a long-term condition that would require time and focus not to mention financial stability to better accommodate unexpected treatment/circumstances.
