YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN

Dearest Friends and Families,

A tragic story is never the news someone wants to tell. Indeed it felt unreal, like a bad dream. Only if it could all go away.

Sadly, just after midnight on Saturday, Feb. 26th, CHP discovered a tragic car accident. It was then where the CHP reported that Serg. Som Sath layed in the fields alone in critical condition. Sergeant Som passed away just at 1:00AM at the Fresno California St. Agnes Hospital.

But this is not how Sergeant Som Sath would want you to remember him by. This is not the story he wants to tell.....

Instead, Sergeant Som would want everybody to remember him by his humbleness, laughter, smile, thoughts, prayers and love. Through each of these memories he will live on forever in our hearts. As he touched everyone's lives, he is a hero to many, a father, a husband, a nephew, an Uncle, a friend to others, and most of all he a son. He is the Honoring Son of Past Som Vann and Past Moueng Nom, both Veteran parents. All military heroes serving their Country of the past during the Khmer Rouge Genocide in Cambodia.

For my big brother, if I could read his mind -he would say "Don't cry, little sister. Keep your head up and smile for me."

His brothers from another Mother, Chang and Physii, his childhood best friends said if you know him well, he would say, "I'm just on vacation. See you in Hawaii."

Sergeant Som has a beautiful story to tell as he continued his journey into America. There he lived the rest of his life in Fresno California with his family. He married on to have the three most beautiful daughters. With five of his young siblings to hold on to. He spent most of his happiness at family and friends functions. He loved Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Cambodian New Years the most. Mostly he loved spending time at everybody's birthdays. With such an ironic twist of how he would go this way.

Today would be his birthday. Four days after his passing.

Since today would have been a special day for him, I would like to ask everyone to give him a special moment of silence, or a silent speech to Sergeant Som from your heart, pray for him, continue to love him, hug him as if he was right there reaching out for you. And keep your smile strong for him as he is watching us all.

My dearest big brother, I know you have the biggest heart. You tried your best to live a good life. You touched so many lives. You will forever be in all our hearts. May heaven guide a path for you, may he let the light shine, may he reach out his hands, may you to climb those stairs to the almighty gates, may you rest in peace, my dearest Heavenly Angel Brother.

As I ask for support on this GO FUND ME link, all FUNDRAISING DONATIONS WILL GO ABSOLUTELY TO HIS FUNERAL SERVICES AND THE REMAINDER WILL GO TO HIS THREE DAUGHTERS WHO HE LEFT BEHIND. They are still very young and will need all the help they can get.

We are humbly appreciative by means any support small or big will go a long way.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping in times like this. God bless. May Sergeant Som Sath rest in peace.

Sincerely,
Nary Som Mangsanghanh
