Jaeden's Recovery Fund

Hey everybody! My name is Jaeden.  I am four months old.  I want to tell you all about my journey at the Children's Hospital in Denver, Colorado.  I have something called Osteomyelitis.  It is a bacterial infection my doctor is unsure how I developed.  The bacteria traveled through my body and settled deep into the bones of my hip.  It ate away at my cartilage, causing my left leg to go limp.  My Mommy and Daddy were so worried about me.  I had lots of tests done to find out why I couldn’t move my leg.  I gave blood samples, urine samples, had x-rays taken of all my bones, had a spinal tap, ultrasounds, and even more x-rays.  If I could talk I would have said “my hip hurts me!”  I don’t like being poked with needles.  I need to fight this bacteria with the help of a couple different antibiotics for the next 3-4 months,  I also need to wear this really cool body brace, which will force my lazy leg to stay in my hip joint.  Hopefully, if I work really hard, the cartilage will start to grow back over the next few months.  The body brace will delay me from learning how to crawl and walk, but as soon as I can, I will work so hard to get back on track.  I am a really strong little guy, but I have a long road ahead and a lot of hard work to do.  I will need to see my special orthopedic doctors for a long time, and I will need to do physical therapy exercises to get my leg strong enough to play baseball (my favorite sport!).  But I refuse to give up! Even though I’m in the hospital, I can’t help but smile!  I’m making lots of friends and my doctors and nurses say I am a special little boy!

My Mommy and Daddy are going to have extra medical and travel expenses between me being in the hospital and needing to go back for physical therapy as I grow.  Please help me and share my story to give me the best chance I can at a full recovery!
