On December 14, 2017 our worlds turned upside and set into motion a series of events that we never saw coming. A tumor was found in our dad’s brain. Within 5 days of discovering the tumor, he was scheduled for a craniotomy to have the tumor removed. Thankfully, the surgery was successful and they were able to remove it. Two days later, we were told the tumor was malignant and had metastasized from his lungs. It was lung cancer, our dad has lung cancer.
Although the cancer in his lungs is small, (so small that doctors weren’t able to see it in various scans) it is so aggressive that there are still cancer cells present on both sides of his brain. A PET scan is scheduled first, followed by radiation on his brain. Then comes the chemo for his lungs.
With a 13 day stay at the hospital, scans done at the hospital, upcoming scans, possible radiation as well as chemo, the bills will continue to grow. And as much as we wish we could put all of our focus on the long road ahead, the burdens of financial obligations will not cease to build. We are hopeful that this gofundme will help our family rest a little easier each day towards our dad’s treatments and recovery.
Any donation, small or large, will go towards his treatments and hospital bills as well as covering bills at home, as he is currently unable to return to work.

We do realize that $15, 000 might be a lot, but we are still unsure as to what treatments will look like, for how long, and for how long he’ll be out of work. If we are able to raise more than needed, your donations will go to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation.
