Tracy's Cancer Fund

Donation protected

“Cancer does not have a face until it’s yours or someone you know.” For those of you who know Tracy, know that she was an extremely hard worker who did everything possible to support her two sons Ryan and Riley and her disabled husband Darryl. Tracy worked for a few months in agonizing pain until she finally couldn’t any longer. On March 31st, Tracy checked her self in at the Carbonear hospital and was immediately put into an ambulance and brought to the St. Johns Health Science Center where they did an emergency MRI and discovered three masses in different areas of her body.

With further testing she was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer called Sarcoma. “Sarcomas are different from the much more common carcinomas because they happen in a different kind of tissue. Sarcomas grow in connective tissue -- cells that connect or support other kinds of tissue in your body. These tumors are most common in the bones, muscles, tendons, cartilage, nerves, fat, and blood vessels of your arms and legs, but they can happen anywhere.”

Weeks later, Tracy’s doctors told her that the cancer has spread and they couldn’t do anything to help her. She was then transferred back to Carbonear hospital and put into palliative care and was given only a few days to live.

The following day, doctors came into Tracy’s room and told her that they received new test results and that there was a very small chance that chemo could help her. But any chance was better than no chance! She was then brought back to St. John’s and began treatments that night (April 20th).

Tracy still resides at the St. Johns hospital and is doing everything in her power to kick cancers ass!!! If the cancer does not respond to chemotherapy then we at least might buy her a little more time to be with her family. We are asking for urgent help with the costs associated with living expenses and other medical needs. These funds will be of great use during this difficult time, and we hope that in the end the treatments will work and Tracy will live a long life. Tracy’s kindness, strength, spirit and generosity are rare qualities we all love about her. Whether you know her or not, we hope you will find in your heart to help her in any way you can. Any donation, share, or prayer would be greatly appreciated! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts xo
