Zion's Gift

On August 11th 2018 our son Zion John-Lawrence Stepney was born just one day shy of 37 weeks in to the arms of Jesus. The pain we feel is indescribable so I won't try to put it in to words. What I can describe is John and my overwhelming longing to make sure that although not many people were able to meet him, that he leaves an imprint and a legacy here on earth.  
That all being said, we are setting up this Gofundme page in honor of Zion to help a family that is very near and dear to our hearts. I met the Edminson's during my time working at the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Jamie, a single mom, and her parents are full time care givers to Jamie's son's Ryan and Austin who were both born with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). Duchenne is a neuromuscular disease that virtually wastes away every muscle (the heart and lungs are muscles too) and to date, there is NO CURE.
While Ryan has been wheelchair bound for many years now, up until now Austin has been able to go back and forth between walking and using a manual wheelchair.  Unfortunately, the time is quickly approaching where he will need to also be in a power wheelchair full time. The van that the Edminson's currently drive does not accommodate two wheel chairs and a van that will is VERY costly. This page is dedicated to raising money for a new van. With all the burdens that this family has had and has to bear that are unavoidable, our hope and goal is to alleviate just a little bit of burden that we CAN. 
So many people want to know what they can do to help us, and this...THIS would help us. More than flowers, more than meals, THIS would help heal our hearts. To know that Zion's life made an impact in such a huge way would help me...would help us. So please, if you can, donate and/or share this page. Help spread the word!
