The Tubbs fire has devastated countless families. So many friends, families, and loved ones forever had their lives changed by the events that unfolded over the course of this past weekend.
One family in particular was the Zimmerman family. As the sun rose, their worst fears were confirmed, that their house, and the homes of so many they love, were devastated by the Tubbs Fire. I along with many members of the Sac State Rugby team and over the years have met the Zimmerman's on countless occasions. I also had the pleasure of playing rugby with their son Stephen at Sac State. I have known Stephen for 7+ years now and he is more than just a teammate he is a brother. Rugby is more than just the competition on the field it is about the brotherhood it forms. So in this time of need we felt it best to band together and help the Zimmerman Family in any way possible.
We know the next few months and years will be challenging, and uncertain for Stephen, Angela, Mike and Brianna. We wanted to put together a contribution to help out in these rough times. Like so many others we know they are grieving and hurting so anything we can do to help can only aid in the process.
