Breast Cancer Relief Fund

I have always been a firm believer that people are brought into your life for a reason; so I find it is no coincidence that 18 years after highschool, Steph and I reunited through our kids daycare.

We were not friends in school, and once we re-met one another, didn't even recognize each other at first. We looked familiar to one another, but it wasn't until Steph dug out her old yearbooks that we realized we went to the same High School. We soon found out that not only were our kids best friends at daycare, but that we lived in the same neighborhood. Life is funny that way.

Needless to say, we instantly became friends. Those of you who know Stephanie know that she has a glow and warmth to her that makes you feel as if you have known her forever.   She is kind, intelligent, sarcastic and funny, hard-working, and strong, with a heart of gold and eyes and a smile that could light up any room. She is an incredible wife and mother of two beautiful little children. She has been such a supportive friend to me through my own health and life struggles, so when she told me the news, I immediately knew I needed to help in any way possible.

A few weeks ago, Steph had some soreness in her chest surrounding what appeared to be a lump. Not completely worried, she decided to call her OBGYN and make an appointment to put her fears at ease. The OBGYN suggested it felt like a tumor, and the imaging and biopsy confirmed it as well. Steph meets with the surgeon Friday to determine and discuss her plan of treatment for Breast Cancer. The emotional and financial burden of battling Cancer is unfair at any age, but it is especially challenging when you have to provide for, support, and raise a family. Steph confided in me that she is already considering sacrificing better doctors so that she is able to do her radiation/treatments on her lunch break because she is unable to take time off of work and can't risk losing her health coverage. It shouldn't be terrifying just to get healthy due to the cost.

Steph is not one to discuss her personal business, or to ask for help, but she needs all the love and support possible right now.

Steph's husband, family, and friends will be by her side through every step of this journey. We can help her get through this together.

Thank you for all the love, support, and good energy sent her way. No gesture is too small to help ease the burden. Please keep Stephanie and her family in your prayers. The power of prayer can work miracles.

Any funds collected that are not needed to cover the costs of treatment or during recovery will be promptly donated to cancer research.

Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support for Stephanie and her journey ahead.

Love,
Team Steph
