Zeke's journey

Little Zeke was born with a very rare type of cancer only ever documented in 13 other newborns world wide.
Zeke beat all odds when he started his journey. He underwent extensive treatment and surgery in hopes to cure his cancer. Zeke is the first baby world wide to live longer than 3 months of age who has been diagnosed with PNET ewing sarcoma.
Zeke made it into remission early 2018 just before celebrating his 1st birthday party with friends and family. It was a magical moment and a milestone we only dreamed of achieving.
He enjoyed 4 beautiful months at home with his family. Growing, learning and creating beautiful memories.
After a routine scan we were told the heartbreaking news that the cancer had returned. Due to the cancer returning so quickly, we learned, Zeke was now considered very high risk.
Our worlds crumbled at those words.
The cancer had grown smart and regrew in Zeke's brain.
Zeke underwent a 7 and a half hour surgery to have the new tumour removed.
He now prepares to have more treatment in the form of chemotherapy and stem cell rescue.
With this new course of treatment one of us will need to travel to and from hospital and Yanchep daily just to visit while the other stays in hospital full time.
Both of us are unable to work as we are now split between caring for Zeke and our 2 older children.
