Help Zeinab Get To UWC East Africa

Donation protected
My name is Zeinab Tabag. I am a student from Sudan. I am interested in engineering, technology, and psychology. I am also passionate about women’s rights, especially their right to an education in developing countries. I have always sought to develop myself and to look for exciting opportunities that will allow me to get out of my comfort zone. Luckily, I came across the United World Colleges.

In May 2022, I received a fully-funded tuition scholarship to attend UWC East Africa's Moshi campus. For me, UWC is an opportunity, an experience, and a great challenge. UWC will add a lot to my life socially and academically. At UWC, I will be able to gain new values and skills and meet people from around the world. This kind of experience is essential as it will allow me to use what I learn from others' ideas and perspectives to contribute to solving issues that face our world.

Furthermore, through the International Baccalaureate program, I will receive an excellent world-class education allowing me to pursue later academic opportunities in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, my career passion. As an Engineer, I hope to address the shortage of household electricity in Sudanese households and develop the country's infrastructure in that field.

I believe that knowledge is power. We are now working on building our Sudan through our Revolution. We must develop ourselves through opportunities like UWC to be able to build our country. I hope to be able to achieve the dreams of those who sacrificed their lives for our country during the revolution.

To achieve my goals, I need your help! While I received a generous scholarship from UWC East Africa that covers my tuition, room, and board fees, I still need to secure funds for my flight tickets and visa expenses. Due to the dire political and economic situation in Sudan, my family can only support me with minimal costs that will cover my pocket money when I live in Tanzania. Here is the breakdown of the funds I need:

  • Return Flight Ticket: Khartoum International Airport to Kilimanjaro International Airport. The cost of return tickets is around $1,300
  • Tanzania Student Pass: $250

I have to arrive in Tanzania on August 9th, 2022, so I urgently need to collect these funds. I hope you will be able to support me. Only a small amount of money will allow me to reach my dream school. Please help by donating to the campaign or by sharing!

Karim Khalid will receive all funds raised through this campaign through his bank account in the United States. Karim is a UWC Costa Rica alum from 2016 and currently volunteers with the UWC Sudan National Committee.
