The Murray Family

Donation protected
Jacob and Candace Murray were married October 24, 2015. In January of this year, they announced their family of four would become a family of five in August!

On March 11th, our friends and family gathered as Jacob and Candace revealed they were expecting a baby GIRL! They closed on their beautiful first home on May 22nd, and things appeared to be going very well for this young family. Little did they know, the month of June would turn their world upside down.

On June 15th, Candace unexpectedly lost her job of eight years, but something even worse was happening inside her body--she was unknowingly losing her baby.

On Father's Day, June 18th, Candace felt unusually tired and weak. At only thirty-one weeks into her pregnancy and with her blood pressure extremely elevated, they ultimately decided it was time to visit the ER. The hospital staff at TMC quickly made the decision to CareFlite Candace to Medical City Dallas. Shortly after arrival, it was determined that Candace's placenta was detaching with only 10% remaining. Candace was bleeding into her uterus, and her kidneys were failing. She and baby Dylann were in grave danger, and their only chance for survival was an emergency c-section.

Dylann Layne Murray was born June 19, 2017 at 12:13 AM, weighing 3lbs. 8oz. and 17.5 inches long. She was taken straight to NICU and Candace was rushed the opposite direction to ICU, without getting to see or touch her precious baby girl.

After multiple blood and platelet transfusions and the care of Medical City's wonderful staff, Candace was released from ICU two days later. She remains under close watch because her kidneys are still not functioning properly, and her potassium levels are continuing to rise--dialysis is the next option. Baby Dylann has the heart of a fighter (just like her momma) and is doing very well, but she will need to remain in the hospital for eight more weeks.

Jacob has spent the last few days caring for his girls, including Mackenzie, who has been right by his side through everything. Jacob will have to return to work very soon, which means he will have to drive from Sherman to Dallas every day. The expense of fuel and eating out is building, and their first mortgage payment is upcoming.

I am Jessica, Jacob's sister, and I am starting this campaign because I know the family and friends we share are all eager to find a way to help this family. We did not have a chance to throw Jake and Candace a housewarming party or baby shower, so they do not have much for baby Dylann yet, and due to the recent events, their resources are quickly dwindling. My goal is to reach $4,000 dollars to help them out with bills and the expense of food and travel for the next eight weeks--ANY amount will be appreciated, and we are all so grateful for everyone's continued prayers and support.

Thank you,

Jessica Burden
