Caitlin's Medical Fund

Our dear friend Caitlin Carvalho, fantastic single mom of three amazing boys, has just received the news that all of us dread: She has been diagnosed with cancer. Now begins a brutal, months-long course of chemo, surgery and recovery to remove a large, malignant tumor growing on her right ovary. She has been told to expect to be fully out of commission for a minimum of six months. As you can imagine, the associated financial burden is enormous and worrisome.

Caitlin is unable to work. And, due to the state of our healthcare system, she has been forced to take on unimaginably expensive insurance in order to get proper care. Add to this the prospect of daunting medical expenses as well as her mortgage, monthly bills, and the care and feeding of teenagers and family pets. It all weighs heavily. 

As the saying goes, it takes a village. Fortunately, Caitlin’s is strong! Please give as generously as you are able. Donations, large and small, will make all the difference toward Caitlin’s recovery—both physical and financial.
