<div>The sole purpose of this fundraiser is to help a family who recently lost their husband, and a father to two children after he was detained by immigration agents while on his way to work…just a block away from his home.

<div>For the protection and privacy reasons of this mother, father, and two children, their identification will not be disclosed, I truly hope you understand.

<div>These are dark times, when safety feels like a luxury and the future like a distant dream. The fear they’ve instilled in us has kept many of us from stepping outside our homes, simply because of the way we look. Fear that was planted, cultivated, and weaponized against us.

<div>This family has not only lost a loved one to these devastating circumstances, but also their caretaker and provider, the person they depended on to survive. Mom is currently unemployed and caring for their two young children, a 7-year-old and a 4-year-old. They are struggling to afford food and pay rent.

<div>This is only one family of hundreds, if not thousands, that have been affected by the current situation unfolding around us. My heart feels so heavy, and it brings tears to my eyes every time I see a family get ripped apart. I hope this brings some awareness to the painful reality so many families are facing everyday.

<div>El propósito de esta recaudación es ayudar a una familia que recientemente perdió a su esposo y padre, después de haber sido detenido por inmigración mientras se dirigía a su trabajo…a tan solo una cuadra de su hogar.

<div>Vivimos tiempos oscuros, donde la seguridad se siente como un lujo y el futuro como un sueño distante. El miedo que nos han inculcado ha hecho que muchos tengamos temor de salir de nuestros propios hogares, simplemente por nuestra apariencia. Un miedo que fue sembrado, cultivado y utilizado en nuestra contra.

<div>Esta familia no solo ha perdido a un ser querido debido a estas circunstancias devastadoras, sino también a su sostén principal, la persona de quien dependían para sobrevivir. Mamá actualmente no trabaja y está a cargo de sus dos hijos pequeños, de 7 y 4 años. Están luchando por conseguir comida y pagar la renta.

<div>Esta es solo una familia entre cientos, si no miles, que han sido afectadas por la situación que vivimos. Mi corazón se siente pesado, y se me llenan los ojos de lágrimas cada vez que veo una familia ser separada. Espero que esto ayude a crear conciencia sobre la dura realidad que tantas familias enfrentan día tras día.
