The Ripple Effect: Acts of Kindness

We are Teresa and Terry Rotherham, retired teachers of 30 years. We have taught in three States and four countries. During that time, while traveling we would see people in need. We would help as much as we could, but felt we could do more. We had planned on being in Peru from September to December, however, COVID-19 has changed those plans. We are now researching places to volunteer and help others here in the States. Will be doing good works where ever the Spirit leads us. Please help us, help others. All monies received through this campaign go toward supporting other people's needs.

In 2018-2019 we traveled around the world and started a small charity to help people along the way. Thanks to awesome people around the world we donated about $3500 worth of items to people in need in 15 countries.You can see our posts from that trip here on GoFundMe. The encounters that we had and the people we met, touched our hearts deeply. Due to this calling, we have decided to make The Ripple Effect: Ongoing Acts of Kindness our life mission. 

Our philosophy is to help one family at a time to take the first step or two out of poverty. We will immerse ourselves in an impoverished community to get to know the people we are helping and provide what they need. The help may be in the form of school uniforms for children or a bike to get to a better job or maybe goats or chickens to provide food security, whatever the family needs to lead the quality of life they desire. Our hope is that once a few families are secure they can begin helping others. The Ripple Effect.

We truly believe that through one to one acts of kindness we can start a ripple effect that will help people bring themselves out of poverty and allow them to help others in turn.
