Where the Heart Is

Hi my name is PJ and this is my life (or something like it).

I have been a small business owner for many years, I make costumes of all types renaissance, larping, fairy - you name it I made it. I truly enjoy what I do. I have gotten to meet so many wonderful people at the different festivals, s/f conventions, and renaissance faires that I have offered my wares at but.... I was never going to get rich doing it. I was okay with that, I don't need much to be happy. But life sometimes takes unexpected turns and I think mine just took a hairpin turn way to fast.

I have been slowing down the last few years due to poor health.  I have Lupus which has been kicking my butt and causing a lot of joint damage to my knees/hips making loading/unloading at the different events difficult. I dealt with that by hiring help but that seriously eroded my income. I was still squeaking by but then my only means of transportation died.  With help from my friends, family, and community I got the noble steed running again, but because of health and other issues I couldn't get back onto the road like I used to be.

I was trying to work it out, but then my mother was attacked by a pit bull that left her seriously injured and her beloved Maltese, Zoe, dead, and a pile of ongoing medical expenses that is threatening to bury us.

I've tried to get disability, but it's a grueling haul down that road with uncertain results, and while the promise of  possible lessening financial burdens in the future is nice, it doesn't keep my family in our home now.

Foreclosure looms. 

I find myself in a place I never thought I would be, in desperate need of your help. This very hard for me, to throw myself on the mercy of strangers, but throw myself I will if it means keeping my family in our home.

Any monies donated will go first to saving our home.  Anything remaining after than (one may hope!) will be put to bills.
