During 2010, Zion Christian Church (ZCC) bought the existing church building at 1640 South Arlington Heights Road in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Since we moved into our current location in September 2010, the Lord has blessed us in wonderful ways! We are excited to report that many have made first-time commitments to Christ, received water baptism, and have gotten actively involved with the ministry of the church. We are blessed to witness many lives changed through the power of the gospel, and have seen a number of individuals and families join us in regular attendance. When we talk to our newest members about what prompted them to join ZCC, a recurring theme has been how they have experienced the power of the Holy Spirit at work in the church, and about the warmth and support they have felt from our community. We have always strived to be a loving, welcoming community of believers, and by God’s grace we are excited to see how that effort has impacted our identity!
However, with our growth, we have been facing space challenges. We have been conducting multiple meetings (back to back services and classes) at the same time with about 100 in attendance at any given time in the space equivalent to a small house. We are facing significant constraints and are in dire need of additional space! After prayerful consideration of several design options, we have decided to build a new church building in the newly purchased lot, while we continue to worship in the existing building. We are trusting that the Lord will provide the resources we need to build the building as we anticipate continued growth. We have already taken the preliminary steps of meeting with architects and designing the structure. The project involves the construction of a new building with a larger sanctuary with seats for over 400 people, a baptistery and classrooms.
