IRMA still resonates in Saint-Martin, its name haunts the minds, the wrecked houses and businesses. Words cannot describe the horror and despair IRMA has left in its wake.
My name is Barbara, I am 25 years old and from Saint-Martin.
My parents dedicated themselves over the past years on their charter boat company, my father as the captain and my mother as the hostess. As for many, ruins are all that are left of that today.
They worked with passion, my father often saying that his boat was the most beautiful office in the world.
Their goal was to bring joy to the people that joined them on board for the day.
Through their job, they gave the opportunity to discover the beauty and the wonders of the island, of nature, white sand beaches, turquoise water, snorkeling...
Most guests said that it was the best trip of their life.
Regardless of age, nationality or cultural background, the sea of Saint-Martin would offer the grandest of adventures and discoveries but also warmth and well being during gatherings.
My parents often came home truly happy and satisfied to have offered grand moments to their customers.
I refuse to think that everything ceases today, that Beauty Charter's story has ended.
I want to believe that my parents will still be able to work, to live on their dreams and keep on sharing with you all these moments of joy and great happiness.
My parents need help today and Saint-Martin needs help.
IRMA cannot defeat us, we must fight back.

IRMA résonne à Saint-Martin, son nom est sur toutes les lèvres, a envahi tous les corps, les esprits et pensées, la nature, les maison, les commerces, l'avenir.
IRMA a tout détruit sur son passage, son souvenir hante les nuits et les mots ne seront jamais assez forts pour en décrire l'horreur.
Je m'appelle Barbara, j'ai 25 ans et je suis Saint-Martinoise.
Voila des années que mes parents travaillent dur pour leur société de charter bateau, mon père comme capitaine et ma mère comme hôtesse.
Aujourd'hui il n'y a plus rien. Comme pour beaucoup.
Ils travaillaient avec passion, et mon père se plaisait à dire que son bateau était le plus beau bureau du monde.
Le but était d'apporter du bonheur aux personnes qui embarquaient le temps d'une journée.
Par le biais de leur métier ils faisaient découvrir la beauté de leur île et des îles voisines, de la nature, des plages au sable fin, des eaux turquoises, du snorkeling...
Quelques soient l'âge, la nationalité, la culture, la mer de Saint-Martin par sa magie offrait sa plus belle palette d'aventure, de découvertes, de chaleur, et cette ambiance si particulière de bien-être où tout le monde se retrouvait.
Mes parents rentraient à la maison heureux et satisfaits d'avoir pu faire passer des moments incroyables à leurs clients.
Je ne peux pas croire aujourd'hui que tout s'arrête. Je ne peux pas croire que Beauty Charter cesse d'exister.
Je veux croire que mes parents pourront encore exercer leur activité, continueront encore de partager avec vous tous ces moments de bonheur.
Aujourd'hui ils ont besoin d'aide, Saint-Martin a besoin d'aide.
IRMA ne peut pas l'emporter, nous devons nous battre.
