In a months time, on the 17th of September two buddies and myself are undertaking the 'feet' of running the 2017 Sydney marathon, to honour and raise money for a cause very close to our hearts.

Just on 18 months ago one of our brothers, Andreas Florez, was diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive strain of Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML).

In the meantime this did little to stop the talented musician releasing his first EP and setting sights on taking his music to other parts of the world.

Sadly, Andreas passed away 6 months after being diagnosed at the age of 24.

Being the amazing and generous people they are, his family are channelling this sadness into the good of helping others by launching the Andreas Florez Travel Scholarship for Artistic Excellence.

Their aim is to raise $250,000 in order to support gifted music, film or design students to study overseas as part of their RMIT education.
