Zavala Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund

Donation protected

On August 25th my sister, Angela, and her family evacuated their home with roughly 2 days of clothes and personal care items. What we all though was just precautionary soon became mandatory. Her home surrounded by several feet of water stayed dry through Harvey but the worst was yet to come. With rainfall setting records Houston Bayous and Reservoirs began to spill over. In an effort to control the path of excess water the city opted to release water into certain areas knowingly flooding the homes versus damaged reservoirs and uncontrolled flooding in lots of directions. Angela’s home fell in the path of the controlled flooding zone. Essentially her home was sacrificed for homes like mine, a couple blocks away.

Angela traveld by boat to her home Friday Sept 1st and confirmed the worst, lots of water. She was able to grab some items but not much.

As of today Sept 2nd most Houstonians have started the cleanup process. Tearing down drywall and salvaging what they can. Not Angela. There is so much water the city has no choice but to continue these controlled floods through mid September!!!  Realisticaly by the time she is able to get back home mold, bacteria and sewage water will have destroyed everything she has.

For those of you don’t know Angela she works in IT because she loves to help people. She doesn’t love motherboards, backup software or firewalls… she loves to help people and she chooses to do it through IT. She has fostered 40+ animals in the last year for the Houston SPCA because she is capable. She has lead Back2School Drives and Adopt a Family for Christmas Drives… not participated in LEAD. She has paid it forward and now she needs our help.

When I talked to her about setting up a Go Fund me she said, “I’m 35, I have a good job and I make decent money… there is no way I would ever need a Go Fund Me… but I really don’t know what to do.” Together we can help her and her family see the light at the end of the tunnel. Pease donate today. Any ammount, every little bit counts.

Going back for her pets. (This is prior to the controlled floods)

Post storm. Her house is several streets away you can't even see it anymore you have to take a boat.

Complex parking lot.
