Zaraia’s Medical Bills

On March 27, Zaraia was rushed to the vet, and was quickly transferred to a critical care hospital where they found a bleeding mass on her spleen. She went into shock from blood loss and underwent emergency surgery to remove her spleen, the mass, and a liter of blood that bled into her abdomen. She has made it through surgery, and is doing well, but was in the ICU for several days. The doctors are monitoring her heart to ensure it doesn’t go into life threatening rhythms, which can occur after spleen removal. Her lifesaving treatment is currently over $15,000, and may increase depending on her recovery.

 On March 29th, Zaraia was able to come home however, her kidneys are not fully functioning properly due to all the blood loss she had. She requires close monitoring and care in hopes her kidney function improves.

 As some of you may know, Janelle has been struggling with medical issues of her own resulting in her being hospitalized 4 timesin the last 6 months and has not been able to work. Zaraia is a sweet and loving dog who is only 7 years old. She has helped Janelle get through many rough times. Janelle always does what she can to help her friends, family, and even strangers as a nurse. Zaraia and her are best friends. I feel it is only right to try and help raise funds so that she can focus on Zaraia’s health and recovery.
