I have started this fundraiser to help a dear friend of mine who’s 17 year old daughter was last week involved in a fatal car accident. Sadly the driver died at the scene and Zara was taken to Addenbrookes hospital where she remains in a critical condition within the trauma unit in intensive care. Zara has sustained multiple injuries. If our prayers are answered and Zara wakes up, these will take a long time in hospital to overcome. Zara’s current prognosis is unknown.

Zara is a bright, loveable young girl full of zest for life and everyone who knows her is praying for her to pull through this horrific incident.

As you can imagine this has caused Zara’s mother, family and friends the upmost upset. Zara’s mother Emma has been making the daily commute to Cambridge, which is not a local hospital to be at her daughters bedside day and night. The additional financial burden this has placed on her mother who is spending £200 weekly alone on fuel to be at her daughters bedside daily, before parking and other expenses are taken into consideration. Such as additional childcare for Zara’s two younger brothers, to enable her mother to be with her during this terrible time is all adding additional stress to the family of which Emma is a single parent to three other children.

This fund raiser is to help raise funds to assist the family during this difficult time by alleviating some of financial burden that has been thrust upon them through no fault of their own. Any funds raised will go towards not only fuel and parking but any additional cost associated with Zara’s long term emotional and physical well being or that of the family.

Please do donate to enable a loving mother to continue to travel to see her daughter a daily basis. No mother should have to choose between holding their child’s hand and paying the bills at a time like this.

I have set the target at £5000 initially. This is based on fuel costs of £200 per week for a 16 week period plus additional for parking and childcare. I’m sure you will agree the spiralling costs of the fuel alone is quite eye watering, and anyone who has ever paid childcare will also understand how this can quite quickly add up.

Please help me to try and alleviate some of the financial burden of this situation to enable Emma to focus on what is important. Simply being with her daughter.
