Audrey’s Battle with Retinoblastoma

This is for our sweet Audrey who is fighting bilateral Retinoblastoma. She has cancer in both of her eyes. She was diagnosed on May 24, 2019 at 7 months old. She has completed 6 rounds of Systemic Chemotherapy, 4 rounds of Intra Arterial Chemotherapy, and countless laser and cryogenic therapies and 3 rounds of Intravitreal Chemotherapy. We continue to fight to save both of her eyes and as much vision as we can before we take more drastic measures with her treatment. Audrey has been put under Anesthesia so many times that I have lost count, but we are maybe nearing 40+ We are in awe of our little warrior.
She has gone through more at this age than most kids. She’s currently 2 1/2 and has had 3 reoccurrences with cancer. Our most recent tumor is in her sighted eye and we are treating it with laser therapy before we jump to a radiation plaque. She is visually impaired and has had quite a few delays from chemo and anesthesia so she’s in multiple early intervention therapies. She’s in Occupational Therapy, Vision Therapy, Orientation & Mobility and Speech Therapy.
We continue to fight this cancer and have an MRI scheduled soon along with her Oncology visits and a visit with the Cancer Predisposition clinic. This will give us again more information about her future. She is predisposed to secondary cancers in life and is at high risk for them.
