Zach's TWLOHA Internship

Donation protected
Hello!

This fall (8/23-12/3), I have been given the opportunity to intern with To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA) in Melbourne, Florida! This is something that I have been wanting to do for a long time, and am so excited to be able to partner with an organization that has meant so much to me and played a large part in my story.

For those of you who may not know, TWLOHA is a non profit organization that works to fight the stigma against mental illness and create a community of hope, a place where people can come to know that it is okay to not be okay and know that they are loved. They do a lot of really great work in helping people get the help that they need.

There were several years of my life where I battled a deep depression and struggled with thoughts of suicide almost every day. I was heavily weighed down by shame and feelings of isolation, like I was alone in my struggle; that no one else would understand. I didn't know what depression was and I thought I was just broken. TWLOHA was a huge part in my journey to realizing that was all a lie.

TWLOHA helped me to come to know and believe that each and every person was made to love and be loved, that every person's story is important. People were made to exist in community with one another, helping to carry each other through the dark days and celebrating together on the light ones. It is now a goal in my life to pass that message on to others who may be feeling alone like I did.

While with TWLOHA, I will be working with a team of six other wonderful interns to help spread that message of hope to people who need to hear it. This will be accomplished by answering emails, responding to people's stories, possibly working events with TWLOHA, and helping out around the offices.

This is an amazing opportunity, but it is an unpaid internship.

That's where you come in.
I need to raise about $3,000 dollars to be able to live down there for the full term. $900 dollars of that will go straight to TWLOHA for housing and materials fees. The rest of it will be used for travel to and from Florida, putting gas in my tank, and food in my stomach while I am there.

I am a prideful person and don't like asking for help, but one of TWLOHA's main ideas is that "People need other people", and today, as a recent college graduate without much of a savings account, I need you.

Every single dollar, every share of this page, every prayer sent out; all of it will be appreciated from the bottom of my heart. This has been a dream of mine for years, and I can't do it without you.

If you would like your donation to be tax deductible, or if you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact me and ask.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart and soul, thank you. I hope you will partner with me for these next few months.

You are deeply loved, immeasurably valued, and unfathomably cherished.

With hope,

Zach
