Hi friends. I'm Mel, fiancée and mama extraordinaire. I'm an immunosuppressed bundle of broken disco ball pieces held together by love and the sticky stuff from garlic cloves.
So it's come to this point, where I never wanted to be, but Covid had some funny shit up its sleeve. My family's struggling. Badly. Drowning, really. No stable income, wait-listed for state assistance, unemployment payments have ended, etc. We have just enough money to still have to choose between prescriptions and groceries.
Our monthly expenses are as follows:
$1400 - mortgage and HOA fees (can't afford to move)
$300 - groceries (Aldi ftw)
$135 - asthma medications
$180 - electricity
$120 - gas (includes past due balance that needs to be paid back)
$150 - cell phone (2 lines)
$60 - gas for car
Those are the necessities. It's a shell game of what will get paid this time around. We need help. We need a village to hold us steady until we can do it ourselves. A few months' worth of expenses covered will help us:
1. Keep our home
2. Put food on the table
3. Breathe
4. Let us focus on finding steady work
You're saving the lives of me, my fiancé, and our son. Gratitude is humbling, but it is a blessing to know that people still give a damn.
Thank you. From my entire being.
